How can I find a stud through an exterior stucco wall?

Check your structure on how the studs were placed. Once you have found one moving over 2 ft or more would give you the next position of the stud. You can use the same stud finder you use for the interior.

Find the studs on the inside of the wall with a stud finder, then carefully transfer the marks outside with measuring equipment and straight edges.
