First, consider the size of your furniture. Second, consider the materials it is made of. Third, see how many people it will take to move it, if you can. Obviously, if you can move it yourself (without hurting yourself, of course), it will be no problem. If it takes 4 or more people, there may be cause for concern.

I would recommend that the moving company be contacted and asked for a listing of nominal weights of items - a compilation of all items should provide a fair estimate. Additionally, just a listing of the number of rooms should allow the moving company to give you a really rough estimate.

The best way to estimate the weight of your furniture would be to compare it to a standard weight for furniture the same size and diameter of your furniture. You would then need to consider the type of material used for your furniture. Solid wood furniture would be extremely more heavy than furniture made partially of pressed saw dust.

Well, you can just weigh it accordingly. If it is heavier than a full suit case, then you know its about 50 pounds.

You can easily estimate the weight of your furniture by lifting up one side of the item. Another good way would be do to look it up on the internet.
