If you are trying to check for a gun you don't have anymore you can go to the dealer that sold it to you and have them run a check.

You can check the department of guns, alcohol, and tobacco first off. Or it should be either somewhere on the gun, or the box/owners manual. If you are unsure bring it in to where you bought the gun and they should have the paperwork there and would be able to tell you.

There should be a label somewhere on the gun that gives information such as model number, year of manufacture and the serial number. You may also be able to contact the manufacturer and have them find it for you.

I would bring the gun to local law enforcement. They would be the best source for this. They know where the hidden ones are are the weapon and have access to federal databases. It make take a few days to get the response but its worth it. I wouldn't trust any other source.
