Ballet teachers need more experience the higher the level they teach. Experience is gained through taking ballet classes and also assistant-teaching classes under the supervision of a more senior instructor.

You will need formal ballet training and have to show whomever is hiring you that you know the basic AND advanced moves in ballet.

To become a ballet teacher you need to have many years of training that started at a young age. You then need to learn how to choreograph and you need to get your teaching in dance.

Training is the number one thing you would need. You must learn how to dance, then possibly begin as an intern working your way up in a ballet company.

To teach ballet to beginning students, you must know how to dance ballet first and foremost. Study basic ballet dance to know what is taught to beginning students. Take refresher classes and pay attention to the basic moves so you can replicate them to beginning ballet students. It is important to like children and enjoy working with them.

You can either open your own ballet studio and teach students or you can be hired by an existing studio. You will need the ability to teach and excellent skills.
