Military promotions are determined by performance. Do your job well, and avoid any disciplinary issues, and promotions will come. The evaluation of your commander will play a large role. first get more experience in military training Do exercise regularly and have good medical fitness. voluntarily go and do your seniors work and satisfy them.

If you enter the military after attaining a college degree and apply to Officer Candidate School you enter the army as a second lieutenant, out ranking all non-enlisted servicemen. If you take part in ROTC during college you get college assistance and grade with the rank of second lieutenant.
