A 20-gauge needle has a 0.03575 inch outer diameter while a 15-gauge needle has a 0.072 outer diameter making it bigger. The smaller the gauge number, the larger the needle.
The twenty gauge needle is mesured by the roundness part of the needle. And needles get bigger as the gauge goes down. So yes a fifthteen gauge would be larger.
