Have you been satisfied with Dell computer customer service?

I have had numerous problems.

For the most part, I've found that Dell out sources their customer service, and to get the service you want you really need to hound them and keep calling. Failing that, repeatedly asking for someone higher up is a good idea. Compared to other computer companies, they aren't really better or worse. I've gotten good service and bad from them.

I owned a Dell, and I have also had to deal with them as an ISP tech support agent. I do not like anything about their customer service. They are rude, do not honor the warranty if you have a legit problem with the computer itself, they try to push it off on the ISP. Over all, a bad experience.

I've heard several opinions on Dell's service. Some people had troubles to get their private notebooks or desktop PCs fixed and were threatened before with costs in case the problem was their fault. However, to large scale clients, e.g. companies, universities, they offer good service and react fast, sending technicians to your place.

Dell customer services are renowned for their disservice. This is probably the price you pay for buying your computer as cheap as possible. The products of dell are usually pretty good or adequate, but as services go, they have a bit of a laissez-faire attitude. You will probably be better off finding a friend who knows computers.
