Does Coxsackie virus cause spots?

Coxsackie causes sores, which may be read as spots, in the mouth and on the lips, however, these are pretty obvious sores, not what I would call "spots". If you are seeing spots on the skin I would immediately get to the pediatrician. At worst, this could be measles. At least, you may have chicken pox.

Coxsackie virus type A may cause spots. This virus causes Hand, foot, and mouth disease and for some people may present no symptoms. Blisters may appear in the mouth, hands, feet, sometimes tonsils or throat. It is not found in symptoms for type B.

Coxsackie virus can cause blisters in the mouth, on the hands and bottom of the feet. The rash usually last 7-10 days and can be itchy and painful.

Coxsackie usually affects children between the ages of 6 months and 3 years old. Symptoms include: High fever – often up to five days. Severe fussiness which is often the worst part of the illness. Children may refuse to eat or even drink. A rash of small white or red spots may or may not appear.
