Yes, there are people that enjoy to fish on smaller bonds and lakes. Actually there are a few public ponds out there that let you fish on them. There are also some restricted to kids. These ponds are replenished with fish often so it's not a thrill to some people.

No you do not always have to go bass fishing on a huge lake. sometimes shooting clubs or organizations such as the vfw have lakes on their premises that they keep stocked

As long as you know there are bass in the pond, have a good time. The shallows, around brush, are where the bass normally hang out in ponds.
