Does an RV typically have a rubber roof?

If not, what are they made of?

RVs normally use a form of rolled rubber roofing. In some instances, a RV may have an aluminum or fiberglass roof. However, fiberglass weakens over time due to UV rays. Most rubber roofing is either black or white in color. Black absorbs more heat while white reflects the sun's rays keeping your RV cooler inside.

Some RV's have rubber roofs and some have metal or fiberglass roofs. Rubber roofs are meant for the longhaul, as they will probably be the last thing on the RV that needs to be replaced. Metal roofs tend to rust in the long term, but these models are cheaper. It depends on how long you're going to keep your RV.
