Usually it will. Sometimes, the hardware will be included in the sale of the mic, but if not, there are relatively cheap items that will attach to your kick drum and hold the mic properly. You can buy these items at stores like Guitar Center, or online at places like Musician's Friend.

No a Kick Drum Mic does not require external mounting hardware.the kick drum mic already has external mounting hardware.I have never seen one that has needed external mounting.But if you do think it needs external hardware you should go online and find a place that could have the external hardware.

Yes, a kick drum mic requires external mounting hardware in order to hold the mic in the appropriate position for recording. In addition, the mic will require a mount that reduces vibration thus preventing unwanted noise.
