Why wouldn't I be able to "see" the external hard drive after switching to Windows 7?

I own a Western Digital external drive wd1600xms-00. I used it with a iMac OS X 10.6.4. Now I have an HP with Windows 7. I can't see the external drive.

If your external harddrive is formatted to a Mac standard, Windows may not be able to see it. Look at a data converter or USB stick to move the files.

You probably need to install a driver for the drive. There should be a CD-ROM which came with the drive that you can use to install it.
