The temperament of a mixed breed dog is not as easily predicted as a purebred but generally speaking the owner can judge temperment by noticing whether the puppy is happy and gently interactive with children and not running or cowering with fear. The influence of German Shepherd in the puppy should give him a confident and intelligent disposition.

Any time you ask is a "mix" a good temperament there might be a problem. What is it mixed with? Shepherd mixes can cause problems with small children, they are herders, they herd things, like kids. Sometimes they will nip at the heals and ankles of kids to get them all in one place. But they are also fiercely loyal.

German shepherds generally have a very good temperament - but the temperament of the puppy will depend on what the mix is with and the puppy itself, including it's upbringing thus-far. German shepherds can be very loud, but make wonderful pets for children, having a tendency towards protective behavior and even temperaments. Depending on the individual dog.

It really depends on what the dog is bred with. Most German Sheperd mixes are however very good dogs. Mixed Sheperds can also loose their poor genetics when matched with another dog.
