Does a dry nose on a cat indicate illness?

Not really. This idea is said to be a myth. Many cats in perfect health have dry noses and many sick cats have moist noses. If the cat seems healthy otherwise it probably is.

Yes a dry nose can possibly indicate illness. A dry nose can also indicate dehydration in which case the feline needs to be rehydrated.

A cat normally has a dry nose. House cats are descended from African desert cats, so there's no reason for them to waste moisture on their nose. Cats do lick their noses all the time to clean food off, so occasionally it will seem moist, but the wetness of a cat's nose isn't a sign of health or illness.
