A dipstick's use is solely and only meant for one thing and one thing only. And that is for checking the oil level of the vehicle. But be wise when checking the oil level. Check oil levels after engine has been idle for a couple of minutes.

A dipstick is used only for the purpose of checking the level of your oil. There are markings on the stick that show the level of oil in the engine.
