In the past, the Olympics were for amateur athletics, but in the past twenty to thirty years, professional athletes have been used in the Olympics and sports like track and swimming have started paying athletes. However, for competing in the Olympics, there is no money but some companies sponsor breaking records and pay for that.

You receive training and sponsorship money and you get money from the Olympic committee for each medal that you win in the Olympics.
