Do you have to go to heaven or hell when you die or is there a sleep or limbo first?

There is no scientific evidence of either heaven or hell. The Catholic religion belives that there is a purgatory first, where you have to be purged before you are worthy of heaven. But nobody knows for sure.

That answer is based on a person's religious beliefs. Catholics believe in pergatory where the soul awaits its final reward. Protestants believe the soul immediately ascends to the Heavens or descends into hell. Other faiths await the coming of the Messiah to forgive their sins and invite them into the Afterlife.
