Cooked white rice (and lamb) is a very common veterinarian recommendation for a dog that needs to be on a bland diet for a few days. There are commercial dog foods that contain only white rice and lamb for the very same purpose.

In my house I am also having one dog. When it was sick I didn't give white rice,i gave only milk and bread. As my opinion you don't give white rice

You can give white right to your dog when she is vomiting or has diarrhea. You can cook it with chicken broth

White rice is mild and it shouldn't upset your dog's stomach, so it is fine to give to a sick dog. Brown rice is more nutritious, and so it is a better choice if you can find it. You may also want to add some pieces of unseasoned, cooked chicken or some chicken broth.

It's never a good idea to give any kind of human food to your dog. Foods that are suitable for a human can be terribly hard to digest for a dog. Stick to dog food. If he won't eat, try Nutri-cal which is a supplement that is for dogs off food. It give energy and the things your dog needs.
