There are many kinds of tiny black ants all over the world that have been known to bite humans, but unlike the very familiar red ants, their bites are not felt because although they can become aggressive and protective of their nest, their saliva does not contain the painful and harmful poisons that irritate human skins.

Yes they are able to bite. But they only bite those who provoke them. In addition, their bite is usually harmless
