Do softball scorebooks come with instructions on how to use them?

Typically scorebooks will include instructions. However, it can be a little tricky if you've never done it before, so you may want to review score keeping ahead of time. You can find the "official NCAA softball scorebook" online. Alternatively, there are various smartphone apps that can be downloaded which make keeping score simpler.

In my experiences with softball and baseball score books, they ALWAYS have a simple page or two of easy instructions on how to fill out the cells for proper scoring.

No they do not come with a pamphlet of instructions, however they are very simple to use, they have it pretty much spelled out for you in the book!
