Do snakes stay around in the same general area or do them wander away?

Snakes aren't known for being wide ranging in general. If you've seen them in the area then chances are they will still be around.

Most snakes wander quite a lot in search of prey but they will always seek their preferred type of habitat. They may also return often to a favourite safe place where they can hide and sleep. Some types have different locations by day and by night when the temperature fluctuates a lot. It really depends on the species.
