Only Sith (badguys, basically) use red lightsabers, but they use other colors as well. Jedi use any color but red. Other than that, it's purely aesthetic.
Yes they do. Red is used by the Sith (bad guys). Blue is used by Jedi Masters (good guys), green is used by jedi apprentices (good guys), purple has only been seen once, also good. However many people disagree about color meanings. Bottom line, red is evil, other colors good.
Yes, actually. First and foremost, red lightsabers are almost always used by Sith.
Blue, green, and yellow lightsabers are most used by Jedi warriors, Force experts, and wise masters, respectively.
Technically speaking they do, for example Darth Vader has a red one as opposed to Luke Skywalker which had a blue one. As for anything beside that not really. They are just for aesthetics.
Red for sith and blue for jedi. Blue color blended into the scenery so they changed it to green. Purple was a special request to make a character stand out.
yes they do -- they are color coded according to character. For example, Yoda's is green, which is easy to remember since he is, too. Luke Skywalker's is blue and Darth Vader's is red.
The lightsaber colors were chosen to show who was good ( Luke with Green ) and bad ( Darth Vader with Red). They don't have an effect on the lightsaber itself.
Red is exclusivly for Sith. Blue initially meant "Jedi" but eventually was changed to green in "Return of the Jedi becuase of scenary". Now color represents focus in the Jedi order: Blue- Guardian- Jedi who are trained in combat. Green-Consular- More trained in the force. Red- Sith.
