Most Seventh-Day Adventists know that Ellen White's writings are not biblical text, but as the Mormons revere the writings of Joseph Smith, Ellen White's writings are considered divinely inspired and are taught along side the Bible. The same could be asked of the New Testimate. To a Jew the New Testimate isn't scripture.

It is easy for people to think that Ellen White's quotes come from scripture. They are, however, her own spin on traditional proverbs and faith. Her books and quotes are found eveywhere and often used by Christian preachers. Given that the writings are often quite old fashioned, they mimic biblical language. As such people confuse White's words for holy scripture.

Very few people confuse Ellen G. White's writings with scripture. The Seventh-Day Adventist church officially believes she was inspired by the Holy Spirit in the same way as the various authors of the Bible. Both she and the SDA church clearly state that her writings are to clarify and expound on scripture, but not to replace or add to it.

Ellen White wrote about religion and scripture and some people find they confuse the two. They may find that their own understanding is better through the words of another.
