Roy Croft wrote "Love. " (I love you, not only for what you are. . . ) There are lots of poems by that title. Croft published one book of poetry through Blue Mountain Press, a vanity publisher. He is not listed in any library in the U. S. He was born in 1919 or 1907, died 1977 or 1973.

The poem "Love" is credited to someone named "Roy Croft." There is no information about this author, no publishing credits, nothing in the LOC author lists, and 1600 librarians around the world never heard of him when posed the question. The poem is a product of Blue Mountain Arts, an online greeting card company. Contact them for info: 303-449-0536

Yes, Roy Croft penned "Love". Not much is known about the poet; therefore, not much is known about the circumstances under which the poem was written. Theories exist that he lived in the twentieth century and was inspired by the Roycroft community; however, none of these theories have been confirmed.

it's rumored that Roy croft was not real and that a translater fearing copyright infringement used that name which is said to be taken from Roycroft Publishing.. The original poem is said to be Ich lieb Dich by Erich Fried. No one really knows for sure.

I just contacted Blue Mountain Arts. They have no knowledge of the author Roy Croft or the 'supposed' title of his book, "I Love You." I first heard this poem read by a man with a beautiful baritone voice...on the Radio. This was in the 1940's!

Roy Croft doesn't seem to have existed anywhere but an Austrian man who wrote many other beautiful poems wrote a twin to it. Most people who have looked into it think that this poem is Erich Fried's "Ich liebe Dich" translated into English. If you love this poem you will enjoy the other great love poems by Erich Fried.
