Once blood sugar levels become low usually once starts to sweat and also has palpitations and a fast heart rate. This is because hypoglycemia causes sympathetic nervous stimulation that increases the heart rate and needs immediate attention. A high blood sugar usually does not cause much change though unless it causes keto-acidosis.

Sugar often acts as a stimulant, and an unusually high level of sugar in your blood can cause hyperactivity and even make your heart race. Your heart rate will go down once the sugar leaves your system, but this is still not a healthy thing to do.

First of all, your question should be directed to a health practitioner, particularly one who has taken care of you in the past. Depending on your particular medical condition, low or high glucose levels may cause your heart rate to fluctuate. That is one of the dangers of diabetes: your body may find it difficult to control the heart.
