Can you use topical corticosteroids during pregnancy?

Yes, these are fine as they typically do not enter the bloodstream when applied on top of the skin. Just be sure and not accidently ingest any by having it on your hands after applying and then eating and this would enter your bloodstream and could cause you to have some side effects.

Topical corticosteroids should not be used during pregnancy unless it is considered essential by your doctor. If you do use topical corticosteroids you should use the minimum strength necessary for the least amount of time and only over the needed area to reduce the amount that is being absorbed into your skin.

Topical corticosteroids should not generally be used during pregnancy unless considered essential by you and your doctor because of the side effects such as cleft palate or retarded growth of the fetus in some studies. They also should not be used if you are breastfeeding for some of the same reasons.

topical corticosteriods should not be used duriing pregnancy unless you and you doctor agree that it is safe. but some studies show that women that use topical corticosteriods during pregnancy usually have abnormalties in the baby or in the women that is using it herself. so you may not want to use it during pregnancy.
