Can you troubleshoot my Kia Optima that has no power to the fuel pump?

I would check my grounds, most likely one came loose so its not getting power. If its not that it could be a neutral position switch.

First your going to want to check for power to the fuse. Once you verify power to and from fuse you will verify power to the fuel pump relay. if you have power from the fuse to the relay but not to the pump you have a bad relay.

Check the wiring in the car, anything that has to do with power is definatly in some way related to wiring or the battery. It might just simplely be time to replace your battery. Buying a battery checking device can determine if there is enought charge or it is in need of replaceing.

This is a common problem many Optima owners have to eventually deal with. The wiring harness is awkwardly placed and susceptible to becoming loose after a while. Assuming you drive on rough pavement or potholed roads, you probably should tighten the wire leading to the fuel pump. After all, it's better than having the wire come loose in the rain!

You should check the fuse located in the motor. There will be a fuse box under the hood and it will have a fuse for the fuel pump and if it is blown you will not get any power to the fuel pump. Check that out and if it is good you could have a bad solenoid.

No power to the fuel pump means the fuel pump relay is not supplying power. Check to see if ignition module is supplying power to the relay.

if you have no power to the fuel pump that means the wire somewhere along the line has worn out or is grounded. try replacing the wires to the fuel pump so you can get the best power to it. i would also check to see if your fuel pump was any good

The fuel Pump is located inside fuel tank. To access the fuel pump, it's behind rear seats in the trunk area. Take off carpet or cover, use phillip driver to remove all the nuts disconnect electrical connectors. A fuel pump is inside fuel filter that attaches to fuel assembly.
