Turning in knitting refers to making a rounded corner (usually when knitting socks.) To do this, you will need to slip one stitch, then purl to the last 4 stitches. Purl two stitches together. Leave 2 stitches on the working needle and physically turn the project over and do the exact sequence in reverse.

To make a turn, literally take the project and turn it halfway rotation in your hands. The needle from your left hand goe to the right ,and the right to your left. Then, continue on with the directions. Do the opposite stitch that you left off with (ie if you just finished knit, then you will switch to purl).

In standard knitting you knit one row and then turn the whole cloth around so you start at the other end and you purl a row. Purling is essentially knitting backwards, so you knit frontwards and then backwards with the front and the back of the cloth facing you alternately.

Push right hand needle through the front of the left needle. Pull thread around needle in right from back to front. Pull loop through to front. Slip stitch off needle in left hand
