I would use plastic anchors, that come in several sizes, in the wall. A hole a little smaller than the diameter of the anchor is drilled and the anchor is hammered into that hole. Then a screw is screwed into that anchor to secure the rod bracket.

The plaster wall is about an 1" to 1-1/4" thick including the lathe so use 3" mollie bolts and install. Don't use the plastic screw type anchors, they'll fail.

hole needs to be made on both ends of the wall and then the curtain rods need to be screwed in it tightly by nails.the holes have to be made as per the size of the rods.

Drill a small hole in the plaster; one that is a bit smaller than the wall anchor. Tap in the wall anchor and screw the rod base to it.

you can start by measuring the wall, and buying a set of plastic anchors. With the anchors it will be easier to fit the rod in. Don't forget to screw in the bracket to make sure that it is secure as well. Also you will have to drill a hole in the wall for the anchors.
