To become a hospital administrator you would have to have a degree. At least a BA but even better would be an MA in Healthcare. You would have to start by taking a job on the lower rungs and working your way up by being extra competent.
A suggested path of study is health administration. While in school, one may participate in an internship at a local hospital, shadowing an individual in his or her preferred path.
You will first have to attended community college for medical administrator. Depending on your pace it may take up to two years to complete. Afterwards you will have to apply for positions that are open in your area.
A master's degree in health services administration is usually a prerequisite to becoming a hospital administrator. Having a degree in business or public administration and health care experience also helps.
