Can a hospital send your bill to collections?

It is more than likely that the bill is already in collections at this point, a hospital has theriht to send a bill to collections just like any other merchant does.

Hospitals will send your bill to collections after they have tried to collect it on their own. Thatis standard procedure.

Yes, they can. It's the same as any other bill. If you don't pay it they will come after you for the money. Try to work out a payment plan with them. If you make an honest attempt in most cases they will work with you and will not send it to collections.

Yes they can do that, an unpaid bill does go to the collection. You will also have to pay intrest on it. It racks up the longer it is unpaid.
