I think your best source would be the good old fashioned Joy of Cooking. They have professionally tested recipes. You can find a copy of this book at the library.

I would check , this site has many wonderful recipes from normal to outrageous. Most recipes on this site have ratings from people who have already tried them. This will give you a good idea as to whether the recipe is worth trying.
