Salmonella does not have obvious indicators like taste, color or smell, so it's vitally important that all chicken you eat is cooked to at least 165 degrees.

No you cannot smell it, though chicken that is old can develop a bad smell to it. However, perfectly fresh chicken can have salmonella. The best bet is to keep raw chicken separate from other foods and wash everything, especially your hands and cutting boards, with very hot and soapy water.

You can smell the salmonella in the causes where it has become really bad. It will have a gamy taste. Unfortunately, it is usually undetectable by taste, look, and smell.

No. This is why all chicken MUST be cooked to an internal temperature of 180 degrees F, which kills pathogenic bacteria.

No, you can not smell salmonella on a chicken. You can smell if it has gone bad but that is just the smell of rot not bacteria. Salmonella is a microscopic bacteria, it has no scent.
