It's not healthy to lose more than 1 to 2 points a week but if Slim-Fast has you increasing physical activity. eating appropriate portions and Losing water weight, then yes.

You could if that's all you consumed for your meals but it's not always a good idea. Crash diets that make you loose a lot of weight fast aren't always a good idea. When you try to loose weight you should implement a proper diet and exercise to loose the weight.

To lose five pounds (actual fat, not just water) you would need to reduce your daily caloric intake by 2500 calories, because there are 3500 calories per pound of fat. It would be dangerous and improbable that anyone should eat 2500 calories less daily even with Slim-Fast. Most humans need only between 1600-2500 calories a day to maintain their weight.

It is doubtful that you could sustain a five pound a week loss on this plan for long. Maybe the first week or two but that would be all.
