Can you give me some ideas for an outdoor wedding reception?

I'd like to do something different in the fall.

It depends on the location. In some areas, the fall tends to be rainy, so you might consider a back-up indoor location or a tent or canopy. Use the colors of the season and decorate with pumpkins and mums, which could be fun yet elegant. Talk to the cater about planning a seasonal menu to round out the celebration.

It depends what climate you live in, but coming from a west coast climate, I'd say the best place to marry in the fall, outdoors, would be a park or small garden. Beach weddings seem strange in the fall, as you'd expect to see sun in a beach scene

My daughter had her wedding and reception outdoors in the fall. Mums and fall colors make pretty decorations. Be sure you have alternative plans in case of rain.

Prepare for nasty weather(even if 100% that it'll be nice). Have tents, tarps, and an indoor backup option. Tell guest to dress appropriate. A Castle/princess theme is wonderful for Fall.
