What are some unique wedding reception venues?

Well that depends on where you live.. but my suggestions would be a Castle, on a beach, on a farm, some couples do some funny yet weird ceremonies such as under the water while scubadiving, a good idea would be something related to the couple's hobbies.

Unique wedding reception venues would include local aquariums, courthouses, libraries. Another good option would be to find a venue that is a loft style so you are allowed lots of artistic liberty with decorations and catering.

My wife and I got married in the Snowcastle in Kemi, Finland last year. They can do both civil and religioius ceremonies. There are several ice castles around the world and the majority are able to host weddings.

You can get married in an outdoor location if the weather is nice during the time of the year that you're getting married. You can also rent large halls or places inside a resort for a different venue. Often times places like the local VFW, The Fire Hall or Local Dance halls have large rooms for rent as well.
