Using shelves can increase the usability of an empty pantry. Use wired shelves so you can hang items as well as limit the amount of cleaning.

Remove everything from the pantry and measure the space that you have to work with. Then look at the materials you need to store. You will likely have to buy storage bins to make the best use of the space you have. Also consider easy access storage for common items.

Place the pantry at the coolest part of the house or else fit forced ventilation. Allow your self space to move and reach the back of shelves.
