GE (General Electric) makes the best electric cook tops around. Whirlpool comes in a good second, but if you want the best, buy GE, they have a glass panel top to keep the burners cool, automatic settings for timed meals, especially when baking. Most GE products are priced between $800-2500 or more, depending on where you shop, so do research...

The philips electric cooktop is a really good cook top. I use to to make beef streusel all the time.
