Beckett's "Endgame," originally written in French, concerns two characters, Hamm and Clov. Hamm is blind and unable to stand, and Clov is unable to sit down. Clov and Hamm are interdependent on one another and appear to be friends, but they do nothing but fight, bicker, and argue throughout the entire play.

Physically impaired Hamm lives in a world that is ending. . His parents who live in an ashbin are dying, his manservant Clove is leaving him to ensure his own survival. Hamm prepares to die alone, wanting only one thing: to outlive his father.
