How much do you give to charity each year?

As of 2009, you can only write off the value of items that are in good or excellent condition. You cannot donate nearly used up material and write it off your taxes.

We normally give between 1500 and 2000 dollars to charity this year, not including our donations of used items. We have a number of charities that we support independently, year after year, and then we usually give some through our office's workplace charitable campaign.

i give 10% of my net gain to a charitable cause determined by me each year. the amount varies year to year depending on my income. i feel it is important to help those less fortunate than i am. who knows, with this economy, i may be a recipient at some point.

I give both cash and used household items to several different charities throughout the year. The total value of everything, including cash and household items, is around $750 per year. Roughly two thirds of that number comes from household goods that I no longer want (mainly clothes that do not fit any more), and the remaining third is cash.

I give to my local church weekly, red cross, missionaries, veterans causes,animal rescue and shelters once a month-I would say 5,000$ easly a year

giving to charity each year is a commandment from God,i enjoy putting smile in other peoples face,yearly i donate money,sometimes i give out cloths,food stuffs such as rice,beans,yams,sponsor their birthday parties and take them for outing,all together when summed up,i give not less than $4000 to charity homes per year

On average as a family we donate $2000.00 in monetary gifts as well as real good donations. Our main charity is March of Dimes.

I donate most of my clothes so the amount averages out to about 300 per year. I try and donate as much as I can to help do my part.
