In extremely severe cases of renal failure or other syndromes that lead to kidney debilitation, neglecting to undergo dialysis can indeed be fatal. Without at least one active kidney to filter the blood, toxins and deleterious ions can build up and compromise the body's various systems, often leading to septic shock and death.

Not taking dialysis can be very dangerous. The kidneys major role is to remove waste products from the body. When they cannot function properly, dialysis treatment are ordered. Not taking the dialysis treatments to remove the waste products can cause the levels to reach dangerous levels and could lead to death.
