Can you decoupage furniture?

I was thinking about a table top or chair legs.

Pretty much any surface can be decoupaged. If the furniture has a finish on it like stain it should probably be sanded lightly for better adhesion. Also make sure to put a collective clear coat over it when finished.

Yes, you can. In fact, it's a great way to add new life or interesting details to otherwise tired furniture. Remember, thought, that decoupage on regularly used table tops doesn't hold up well unless you seal the decoupage with a coating made for that purpose.

You can decoupage anything. If you are doing a top of a table, I would decoupage the pattern and then paint it with a couple layers of poly to set the decoupage pattern. If will wear better, clean better and last longer. Do not put anything hot onto the poly use a hot pad etc.

Absolutely! There's a glue called "mod podge" (comes in a little jar, pinkish and white label) that works fantastic for decoupage of most mediums. Make sure also to buy a good sealant if you want the furniture to last a long time. Modpodge will work, but if you're going on furniture you might want something a little stronger.
