What instructions can you provide me to help with painting outdoor furniture?

I need basic instructions for painting my outdoor furniture.

Choose a well ventilated location, preferably outdoors and not in direct sunlight. Protect the ground with newspaper. It is very important that you thoroughly clean the furniture with a wire brush and sandpaper before you paint. Paint a matt undercoat and then your chosen overcoat, leaving time to dry in between. Try to find a good quality outdoors paint.

Be sure to sand it lightly. Apply a base coat of primer. Paint it with an industrial grade paint that is designed for outdoor use.

Start by thoroughly cleaning it with some detergent. Then allow to fully dry. Then apply you primer if needed followed by your top-coat.

make sure it's clean and dry and there's no loose rust if it's metal.use a good quality primer and paint.

The first consideration is what material your outdoor furniture is made of. Wood needs to be primed with wood primer after sanding, then finish coated. Plastic can be painted with the new plastic paints after a complete cleaning. Wrought iron needs to be wire brushed and cleaned then painted with a rust inhibiting paint.

Start painting with a good quality rust preventative paint. Spray is easier than brush. Make sure the bottom where caps might be present on the legs are covered well. Rust will hurt. Cover with paint any exposed surface. Turn upside down to assure complete coverage on all areas. Let dry well.
