Yes you can cook brown rice in a crock pot. It doesn't matter which pot you cook in. You can also cook them in rice cookers as well. They boil well in a crock pot also.

No, white or brown rice should be steamed and not simply left to cook and cook in a crock pot. You will never get the right texture in a crock pot for rice.

I have never had good luck cooking it that way. The rice comes out very gummy. But a crock pot does a wonderful job if you're cooking it with something else, such as lentils. It will take about six hours on low heat.

Yes. You can do any rice in a crock pot, it just takes longer. My favorite recipe browns the rice with onions in a saute pan, then letting it cook in the crock pot until done.

Soak a cupful in a crockpot with one and a third cupfuls of cold water overnight (or longer, up to 24 hours is OK). Switch on the crockpot and cook on LOW setting for 120 to 150 minutes, checking and adding more water if needed at 90 min.

Yes, but you have to soak brown rice for a couple of hours before you cook it. Then you can cook it like white rice - otherwise it is crunchy! The soaking period is not critical, can be longer. Experiment, you will learn what works best for you.
