If you get a Ph. D. in a relevant field such as the language(s) your favorite myths are in (such as Ancient Greek) or literature of that period of time, you can make a living (and a nice one) teaching mythology to college students.

You can get a masters degree in history with a concentration in mythology, and then become a certified teacher and find a job at a college teaching history concentrated on mythology.
