What are the chances?

It depends on when your partner had his vasectomy done. If it was within the past year or two, and he has surgery to reverse the procedure he might have hope. If longer and not reversed, odds are he is completely sterile and won't get you pregnant.

This is extremely unlikely, it is much more likely when a woman has her tubes tied to get pregnant then for a vesectomy. Unless the vesectomy was done incorrectly. Some people do get pregnancy when they misunderstand that a vesectomy is not effective for several weeks.

It is a 90% chance you will not be able to become pregnant, but there is still a chance that you can become pregnant, even though he is fixed. When the operation is performed, doctors often snip the tubes, and do not tie them. This leaves the possiblity for the tubes to grow back together, heal, thereby reversing the procedure.

if the tubes were snipped, and not tied, does that make a reversal any more successful??  add a comment

You odds are pretty much slim to none. Most procedures to "Fix" a person simply cannot be reversed. The only way he could get you pregnant is if they screwed up his vasectomy. If he saved sperm in case he wanted a child after all you could do Artificial Insemination.

Any medical procedure or medicine has a chance of not working. To see what the percent of preganancies are after that procedure you should research that specific procedure or speak to the doctor that performed it.

If your husband has had a vascetomy the chances of you becoming pregnant are less than five percent. He could have the procedure reversed, however this will require an operation. Your other options are donor sperm and a procedure called an IUI. You should discuss your options with our spouse and doctor.
