Question by  Bill81 (98)

What are the Florida laws regarding fixed blade knives (home use only)?

I wanted to purchase a fixed 6" blade knife for HOME USE ONLY, not for CONCEALED CARRY. Is it legal to have this knife at my home if I do not carry it with me when I leave home?

Fixed blade knives (non-folding blades) are very common and easy to procur for hunting and fishing. Essentially kitchen knives are fixed-blade knives. There is no problem using these knifes for their intended purpose. Using the knives at home (as well as in the field while hunting or fishing) is not a problem.

All kitchen knives are "fixed blade," which You can have in your home for utilitarian purposes. Florida law does not provide for the concealed carry of knives.
