First, make an appointment with a vet. On the day your cat is spayed, she will need to spend the night at the vet's office. When she comes home from her surgery, give her her pain medication.
You drop your cat off at the veterinarian and they do the procedure. Sometimes the vet will keep them overnight for observation. The pet then goes home to heal.
You can contact your veterinarian, or a local animal shelter. Shelters and pet rescue services often operate low cost spay & neuter events; check with them for their upcoming schedule and you can save some money.
