Yes, dogs can have rice in moderate amount. However, it is not recommended to feed your dog too much people food because they are not nutritionally balanced for your pet. Keep people food for his occasional treats and feed him a balanced dog food normally to keep him healthy.

Many dogs enjoy the flavor of rice. There is also on the market dog foods that have a rice blend. Be aware, though, that some dogs become constipated from eating rice and rice tends to make them feel thirstier than usual. If you dog has to strain having a bowel movement, then just take the rice away.

Rice is a common ingredient in many commercial dog foods. Many people choose to make homemade dog food for their dogs which usually contain rice and cooked meats and vegetables.

Even dogs with very sensitive stomachs can have rice. In fact, most commercial dog foods contain a high percentage of rice. If you cook the rice yourself, don't add any salt, butter or other spices. Those can cause stomach upset. You can add cooked, unseasoned chicken or plain cottage cheese. Your dog will gobble it up!
