Can dog disc problems cause twitching?

Yes, because nerves are involved all along the spine and when irritated can send little tingles in any direction. Acupuncture is a good remedy. Doggie chiropractic is also a remedy. There are medications to help stop this also as another solution.

Your dog twitching probably isn't a disc problem. Depending on the age of the dog, you can have the x-rays to make sure there are no disc problems. There is a rather common health problem called chorea which can cause your dogs muscles to twitch. Sometimes this goes on for just a few days, sometimes for months.

This can be a severely painful and degenerative problem for dogs. The disks can compress or be misaligned causing all sorts of neurological problems from spasms to unsteady gait or immobility.

It is very possiably for dogs that are active disc dogs that the force of the disc to knock there head around a little and cause them twitches. another problem disc dogs have is chipped and or missing teeth due to the forace of the disc hitting their teeth.
